RE: how do i remove paint from bumper
If I were you I would just sand the existing paint with like 800grit, but you dont have to totaly remove it just rough it. Then buy a sealer, and your color, and a clear coat. If I were you I would find a PPG paint dealer they can help you with the right products for the job......just tell them what you are doing. Also whatever paint you use be shure to get a flex agent with it because those bumbers can and will flex from time to time and regular strait paint will crack and fail under these conditions. The ppg sealer is a great starting point because it sands easy and will cut down fast for quik prep work. Well no painting is quik.......take your time and if you mess up just stop. Then later go back to fix the problem. When you spray the color remember to build up light coats, never put on a heavy coat at first. Also to realy make it shine 3m makes a buffing compound that is very good. Use this over your clear coat and the paint will look like water.....SOOOOO PRETTY. Its worth being patient to get the job done right and also If you get the right paint the product will last just as long if not longer than factory.
