Tires
I got a quick question for anyone who might know.
I'm getting my car out of storage on Fri and I am already planning on buying 18 x 9 black bullits up front and 18 x 10 deep dish in the rear.
My question is what size tire will fit on either rim.
My tentative plan is 265/40/18 up front
and 305/35/18 out back.
Any objections? Can I go bigger?
And also what type of tire would best fit street driving, no racing but i might take it to the track.
Basically im looking for a tire that performs incredibly well in the rain and also well on dry pavement. If i had to choose I would go with the wet performance tire because I already had 1 scary incident in the rain and would not like another.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Tires
For the front tires you'll be able to run 275/40/17's and for the rear tires you should be able to run 315's. For an everyday tire with good wet traction that would perform well at the track, I'd say go with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's. Awesome tire, I have em on my stang and couldn't be happier. Incredible traction off the line, I can barely spin my tires if I try. Good in wet weather as well. Overall, outstanding performing tire. A little expensive, but they are worth it.

RE: Tires
Do they come in 265/40/18
and 305/35/18?
I see you said 17 inch rims but im looking to put these on an 18" rim. Also i dont know if its just tire rack but they dont seem to carry a 265 or 305 in an 18" size.

RE: Tires
Well you would be looking at 265/35/18 and 305/30/18 if you want to put 18s on. Have you already bought the rims? If you havent, I would recommend 18X9's up front and 18X10.5's out back with 275/35/18's on the front and 315/30/18's on the back. Yes, they have GS D3's in 275/35/18 but I don't think Goodyear makes them as wide as 305 or 315 with an 18 inch wheel size (TireRack doesn't offer them either). Looks like you'd have to find a new tire if you want to go that wide but there are plenty of tires that offer a 315 wide tire that fit 18 inch wheels. I wouldn't bother going 305.

RE: Tires
I have a 96 GT and was going to repaint mine and add the BOSS Shinoda kit and decals so I found these BOSS 5 spoke wheels, which are basically similar to like 5 spoke cobra highly polished alloys. The only size they come in is 18x9.......My question is with 18x9's on the front and back I couldn't go with wider rear tires, right?
