30k mile maintenance
I don't have my owner's manual in front of me (car is at the dealership), but according to myford.com, the maintenance for my 2003 GT at 30k miles is:
* Change engine oil and replace oil filter (Up to 5 qts of motor oil)
* Inspect and lubricate steering linkage, ball joints, suspension and, if equipped, half shafts drive shaft and u-joints
* Inspect brake pads/shoes/rotors/drums, brake lines and hoses, and parking brake system
* Inspect complete exhaust system and heat shields
* Inspect engine cooling system and hoses
* Inspect wheel ends for end play and noise
* Perform multi-point inspection
* Replace engine air filter
* Replace fuel filter
* Rotate tires for optimal tire life
In addition to the items listed above, the guy at the dealership mentioned replacing transmission fluid (auto trans) and powersteering fluid, cleaning injectors and throttle body. Said it would run around $300 for just those 3 or 4 things (not including fuel filter change or air filter change). I know dealerships charge more than most shops, but am I getting ripped off?
Also, he said the tires are about done and wants $765 (will price match, though) to replace existing tires (stock goodyears), balanced and mounted. Anybody have any opinion on this price? I looked on tirerack for similar tires and figured cost to be around $650 for a set of 4, so that makes about $100 for install and balance. Sound about right?
Also, I was originally thinking that I would upgrade to 17x10.5's (rear) and 17x9's (front) when the tires were ready to be replaced, but since this is coming up quicker than I was expecting, I don't think I can afford both new tires and rims. What's the largest size tire I can put on the stock rims (17x8's?) that would also work for the 17x10.5's and/or 17x9's if I decide to upgrade the rims in a year?
Thanks for any help/advice.

RE: 30k mile maintenance
The powersteering service isn't necessary. I would do the coolant, transmission, fuel injection service. It doesn't call for it, but I would go ahead and servcie the rear differential too. Preventative maintenance is the key.
