My friend had a 93 Dodge Stealth with only 50k miles on it and it popped out of reverse all the time, it had a pretty short throw from the factory, so I thought maybe the connection between a short throw shifter and this happening was the problem...

short throw shifters do do that but, if its stock then it wont. sound like syncrows(its not spelled right but ya)
