Turning off ABS light?

Turning off ABS light?
Okay so I had a problem with my brakes grinding when I slowed to a stop. So I had my mechanic diagnose it and he said it was the ABS system, and that it couldnt be fixed unless Ford had a recall for it. He said it wouldnt cause any damage and that I would just have to live with it. Well it kept getting on my nerves every damn time I slowed to a stop to I finally decided to pull the ABS fuse and sacrafice my ABS and TCS in order to not have this annoying-*** problem. Well it did flix my problem but now the ABS light is on. Is there any way to turn off the ABS light? Would a handheld tuner do it since they can read and clear trouble codes? Or do I just have to choose which annoying thing I want to live with?

Are you serious?! Son of a B1tch! UGGGGG! I either have to have this annoying crunching sound whenever I slow to a stop, or have an annoying light shining in my eyes reminding me that my car is a POS.... I should have bought another Honda....

The ABS module is independent of any scan tool that your local mechanic or AutoZone will have.
A common problem on these cars is the ABS sensor going bad. Replace that first and take it from there. The part is inexpensive.
If that doesn't work, then the module may be bad. That will set you back around 650.00 for just the module.
BTW......I'd put that fuse back in. In the event you rear end someone and it's found that you tampered with the abs, you will be really screwed.

taking the bulb out is like a 5 minute job. take off bolts holding it in, bezel comes right out, take out bulb, put back together.... taa daa!!! Just that easy. I have taken mine out like 5 times for whiteface gauges, etc.... very easy to do
