Default High-stall torque converter

Hey guys-

I have an automatic 99 GT and ive heard that one of the firt things to do to be quicke is to get a high stall torque converter and if so does anyone know if there is anything else involved or is it a simple swap of the stock converter for the aftermarket one. Also how does it make you faster what is different.

It allows the engine to reach it's power band more quickly when you launch the car. Besides the sticky tire as nanki said, you will NEED a good trans cooler, as a higher stall will generate more heat.

Good DR's, 2500-up stall converter, and a shift kit would do wonders for an auto GT.

Well yes a good one is that much. It's a case of "if you wanna play, you gotta pay"
