Default Predator Tuner:

Was wondering if you guys with the predator noticed a difference, and did you get good gains from it because on mustang tuning it is on sale and they claim average gains of 15-20 RWHP, + i've heard that tuners work better than any chip.

Thanks,

Check out the link below. I don't know if you have an automatic or manual, but one thing I have heard from all the guys with auto's (I have a 5 spd) is how much firmer and better the shifting is once they adjust the shift firmness. The link below talks about all the rest of the stuff you need to know. Don't mess with the A/F ratio. But advance the timind all the way up. I think the article says they found as high as 11 hp gains and 16 ft/lb torque gains over bone stock GT's. I think the more you modify it the better you can use the Predator. I got one from RPMoutlet.com for $430 w/ a set of Motoblue underdrive pullies (the good ones, not the piggy back style crappy ones, this one came with a new harmonic dampener). I have no complaints about it. It was hard for me o tell whether the Predator or the pullies did the trick, cuz I installed them both at the same time, but none the less, I could feel a difference. It's not gonna blow you away or anything, just give you that little edge over your fellow stagers with stock motors. I think that cover everything you need to know. I hope it does at least.

Personally I thought the diablo tuner is the best thing I've bought for my car. I could definitely tell a difference when I installed my tune. There are a lot of other things that you will benefit from besides the HP gains. Check engine lights, traction control, EGR valves and O2 sensors, Speedometer calibration, Fans, etc. Plus it will also act as a diagnostics check for computer codes and errors. I bought mine from Jegs for about $345 I think. Well worth the money. Also they claim like 12-15 RWHP. That means like 20 or 25 at the crank.

I love mine. Of course I have an auto so it worked wonders for me. You can feel the added power, but its nothing huge. I think its neccesary for the do-it-yourselfer. Get too many mods and you'll have to go for a professional tune though.
