I just got some M/T ET Street Drag Radials 275-40-17's and they are awseome. The firestone firehawks I had for the street would spin all the way through second gear. These dont even spin off the line (easy launch). The grip is amazing and they are also a good street tire. Although I dont know how long they will last and don't drive in the rain. Thought this was funny...the wear rating on the sidwall of the tire says "00". They hook great on the street, havent had them to the track yet.
My comments are about the ET Streets that M/T has sold for years. I'm not familiar with the new radials. Obviously those owuld be much better for street use.
The only thing the soft compound (DRs) stree tires warn about for regular use is not to run them at "high speed" for long periods of time because they will overheat and start "chunking". I'm not sure what "high speed" is referring to though. 75? 125? more? less?
I run BFG DRs on my Chally and I like them. They provide alot more grip than regular tires, even though they're not even close to what I'd consider perfect. Tire wear hasn;t been an issue since they last me about 4-5 years with the number of miles that car sees.
