lol when i got my cobra i use to hate hills, people were always on my ***, i did a few peel outs across intersections trying to get moving fast and not roll back
but after about a week i was good to go. I use the brake on hills, letting the clutch out a bit isnt good for the car, just wait till your ready to go, leave your foot on the brake then put it in first then let out a bit on the clutch and give it some gas, you shouldnt roll back when you get used to the car, youll learn to love it

It's cause you have constant pressure on the fingers and throwout bearing. You're also slipping the clutch the whole time to keep the car not totally in gear, but not stalling. You should at least be holding the clutch down with the brake holding you so the clutch disc is being spared at least. The proper way to drive (best for your car, at least) is when you come to a stop, put the car in neutral and just hold the brake, then push the clutch pedal in, put it in gear and be on your way when you're ready to get moving again.

Keep the cobra..it makes you nervous for a while while driving, but once you get used to it's so much better than an automatic, you'll be so glad you kept it. In fact, now that I've been driving a standard for a few years, I'm more comfortable driving that than I ever was while driving an automatic, I guess it has to do with having something else to think about. Honestly, I don't think I'd ever go back to an automatic--its just so boring--I'm a girl too, so man up! lol.
