It becomes 2nd nature, I have been driving a stick since I got my DL, now when I get into auto cars, ie moms, gfs, customers cars, I always go for the "invisible clutch" lol

They need to come up with something even better than manual... like Flinstones style or something... because even manual puts me to sleep on the highway hahahaha sometimes I'll line myself up in the lane where no cars areand close my eyes for a second

either that or auto pilot... now that's what I need. So i can just sleep the whole trip.
The need to make a tranny with like 5 overdrive gears, so you constantly shift all the way to 100mph or so. Have the ratios be like

1st - 3.11:1
2nd - 2.83:1
3rd - 1.98:1
4th - 1.0:1
5th - 0.80:1
6th - 0.75:1
7th - 0.64:1
8th - 0.60:1
9th - 0.58:1
10th - 0.40:1

That'll keep ya busy on the highway, lol.

I was wondering the same thing. I had to take a double take on that one lol.
A car with that many gears would be fun to drive and it would have a good amount of power.

I remember when I was learning to drive stick it was between my mom's 02 gt and my dad's 90 toyota pickup. I couldn't get the hang of it in the pickup to save my life, but in the mustang I could actually hear the difference in the engine when the clutch was engaged....just kind of helped me along. Practice, practice, practice. No use in getting in a fender bender b/c you rolled back on someone.

+1

That would be so embarassing. Not only did you hit someone, but it was because you don't even know how to drive your car.

I got rid of my auto, gt and now have a manual cobra. i know how to drive a stick but it seems fun but after a while i get sick of shftting, starting, stoping. and its a bitch while im on this real step *** hill and ppl get real close behind me. i mean i try to feel when the clutch stops but i stll get nervous. yall got any good tips.
if you still get nervous on hills then you're still a beginner.
just have some confidence and don't think about it.
you have to know your car and clutch.
find the point where you clutch will hold up the car.
does anyone know what i'm talking about?
Ok, on my car when i'm on a hill with my foot on the clutch. I can release the clutch slowly to the point where it will hold the car without my foot on the gas padel. Once you know that point you are good.

When I'm on a hill I don't even use my brake to hold myself still... I always play with the gas and clutch to keep steady... now I can usually hold it at around 900-1000rpmsso I won't stall out.
