Default MIL's

Do I really need them? I'm not worried about emissions or anything. I just bought my o/r X pipe and I was wondering if it was going to hurt my car in any way by letting the CEL come on. I don't want to spend the money right now if I don't have to. I don't mind seeing the CEL and when emissions comes around, I'll just get them or I might have a tuner by then hand turn it off.

i ran with my cel on for about a month, didnt notice any performance decrease from it. i have not found a clear answer about if the cel will pull timing or not, my guess is no. i got a sct to turn off the code because i knew i was getting gears and bigger wheels/tires in the future, plus i had to go for emissions which i passed

OK, cool. That's $50 I don't have to spend now.

The rear O2 sesnors ONLY serve to monitor the efficiency of the catalytic converters, they do not impact engine performance in any way--nor will have the SES lamp lit from having no cats.
