I'd say flat black if you are going to do it yourself, or restoleum I believe is what they call it.

I had done mine like that for awhile but had decided to go with the gloss black. I had a shop do it for me for about $80 for both. They did a really great job, with it. I've had it for about 4-5 months now, still looks great.

duplicolor, duplicolor, duplicolor - if your going to rattle can it

a real sprayer will look better.. but a shop should only charge you - 100-200 bucks to do it... theyve got that much black just laying around - dont ask them how much - name your price- just say, hey can you do this for 200 bucks, if i let you do whenever you get a chance - time is there money, and if you allow them ot wait untill they are messing with some else that is getting painted black - or they get a slow day - it will save some money

If I go with flat black on the blackout and lower piece, I will also need to find flat black "MUSTANG" inserts as the ones I have now are gloss. How do you guys think the flat black in the rear will look against my gloss black rims?

I did mine after hours when I worked at a body shop. I scuffed the area down with 400 grit paper, and painted the area satin black. Then I cleared it with a satin clear, so it stays the satin finish. I did this about a year and a half ago, and it still looks like the day I did it. I was lucky and was able to do it for free, but if I had it done I definitely would not pay over 800 bucks. Its a $100-$150 job tops...
