checked in the back seat, in the back, center console.....nothing
I have a 1996 Explorer V8 AWD for a winter truck. My girlfriend hasa 00 Mountaineer(better version of the Explorer)and she has a factory CD changer in her center console. It had a aftermarket cd player in the dash though when she bought it so it doesnt work. Maybe previous owner removed it.
I would definately get an aftermarket deck anyway. I love my Alpine.

I just bought a 2000 Explorer for a DD a couple weeks ago. 101K miles for $4K, I was happy. I'd been happier with a 97 for $1100 though, thats a hell of a deal.
I'd wondered about my CD player too...it has a slot, but says something like "tune discs," I don't know if it holds multiple discs or not. It doesn't matter, I'll probably never put one cd in it, much less 6.
Also, the 4x4 switch says "Auto, 4X4 low, 4X4 high." I take it this is all wheel drive, that automatically swithces to 4x4 when the tires start to slip?
