Procharger or Vortech setup???
ive been lookin at different blower setups and i narrowed it down to either the vortech mongoose kit or the procharger setup? I think i like the procharger more, but i figured id ask you guys. Anyone care to share some pros and cons of both setups?
also, i was reading that post about the $1500 supercharger setup and i was wondering if that could be done with the procharger? is there a site that sells everything seperately?

RE: Procharger or Vortech setup???
I have a procharger and love it.. but... If I was to buy everything new, i'd:
Buy a vortech tuner kit, I'd try to get a v-2 unit to give a little extra "growing room"
Buy a cheapass intercooler off ebay (not the paxton, its wayy over priced)
find a local SCT tuner.. and have them tune your car.
If you want a turn key kit I hear nothing but good things about the mongoose kit, but if your going to have your car tuned anyway I see no reason in spending extra money on the MPH tune..
From what i've seen V-2 units procharger P1sc and paxton novi 2000 units all make similar power...
Tapping the oil pan is not something that should steer you away from vortech or paxton, its really no big deal.
Basically I'd find away to put 10psi into the manifold through an intercooler the cheapest way possible without buying a powerdyne..
Keep in mind your tune is going to make or break your car.. I would say the tune actually is probably more important than the brand of head unit its self, You need to find someone who does modular cars all the time.. Speedydyno in KY is hard to beat..
I chose procharger because I found one cheap, and if pricing was equal I'd choose procharger, buying a new procharger kit takes a pretty big wod of cash tho..
I'd say 2000gt4.6 will chime in on this... He seems to know alot about centri blowers..

RE: Procharger or Vortech setup???
i think the nearest tuner to me would be Bob Kurgan. He seems to specialize in this type of stuff. www.kurganmotorsports.com
i keep looking at them and its definately goin to be between procharger or vortech. If i were to get the cheap intercooler kit off of ebay, what all would i have to do? measure and cut all my own piping?
