As far as i know your probably ok... depending on how much HP, i know you can usually get alot more HP outta a turbo then a supercharger for teh most part. Turbos also put alot less strain on teh engine then a supercharger. i think cause the supercharger uses air from the engine and the turbo gets it own air by spooling. Dont hold me to that. I never heard anyone complain about a turbo mustang by the way.

Just to re-iterrate... The Supercharger requires power to make power. Think about it.... A Supercharger spins its impellars from a pully thats spun by your crank... Thats power lost there to make your supercharger spin. Also alot of heat is generrated by this process.

A Turbocharger just uses the exhausted air from your car to spin its impellars. Now some power is lost due to the initial back pressure but not much.

Another advantage, you can get a regulator that controls the amount of boost your turbos produce....

With a Supercharger you have to swap pullies.... But I DO believe they have a boost retartation system that mimics the turbos boost controller. I'm sure I read it from somewhere.

But if you go turbo, I reccomend that you get a built motor.

Eh, you're kinda right.

A supercharger uses a pulley to spin the impellar or screws to force more air into the engine.

A turbo uses exhaust gases from the exhaust manifolds routed into the turbo to spin the turbine, forcing more air into the engine.

A supercharger takes power from the engine to make the power, since the engine is actually spinning the blower pulley. A turbo just uses the exhaust gas, which are coming out anyways.

A turbo is just as safe as a supercharger. It all has to do with how much boost you're running and how well the car is tuned. A turbo at 9 psi will make more power than a supercharger at 9 psi.

You were good up to that part.

It depends on what turbo and what supercharger, dont worry about psi so much and start looking at CFM. Everybody hears PSI and thinks its the end all be all of judging horsepower from F/I. But PSI is only part of the equation, PSI... pounds per square inch. Some turbos move a lot more square inches then others just like how theres different trims of superchargers. Your standard Saab T3 at 10 psi isnt going to give you remotely near the same results as something like a GT35 at 10 psi just like how an S trim at 10 psi wont yeild the same numbers as a T-trim at 10 psi. All depends on flowrates.
