It all depends on the driver. I've never seen a bone stock 5.0 fox run under a 15.0 ever at the track. The usually are in the low to mid 15's. A stock 4.6 GT is rated at 14.8 or 14.9 depending on the year. And I know stock 5.0's weren't projected to run that. But with the numbers so close it just depends on the driver honestly. And 99 through 04 gt's will kill any stock 5.0 not even a race. 45+hp.

since for the longest time i owned an 89 lx, and now i own a 97 cobra let me put my knowledge into it, its easier and cheaper to get more power from a 5.0. the reason they switched to the 4.6's were because there more reliable, and from person experience, modular motors have better top end then the OHV motor. and for the guy who said 4.6's kill 5.0s, get your information straight. a stock 87-93 will beat a stock 94-98. 2v, not 4v. the 99-04 2v will slightly beat a 87-93. but on top end it will pull away a little more. if your going to do that screw a 5.1, goto the junkyard find a navigator with the 32v 5.4 motor. swap that in there and be done with it, or you can build it up. 5.0s will make more power h/c/i(most of the time). ive seen a 99 gt with a h/c/i swap run its *** off.

get it right, it wont KILL a fox. yes it will beat it, a 96-98 gt is not faster then a fox, it has the exact same hp, and its heavier. a 99-04 will outrun a fox yes and it doesnt have 45+ hp, 99-04 = 265hp 87-93 fox = 225hp, unless its a non-HO model, when i had my fox i dominated 96-98s with exhaust and all i had at the time were flowmasters dumped. and once i did my intake and some other mods, i ate 99-04's except for my friends 99 gt which was all it had was 3.73 gears, nitto drag radials, tb, intake plenum & k&n filter and it ran 13.20@104 all day long. i dont own a fox anymore i own a 97 cobra and i love it, its my dream car, well an 03 cobra was but 97 is fine also. lol

[align=left]Sorry to be such a ***** about this topic but the late model fox bodies only made actually 205 hp at the crank. And the 99 through 04 made 260 so it actually 55 hp yikes should have fully researched it. But for the SN 95's 96 + 97 had 215 hp and the 98 got upgraded to 225. But any any words again stock fox body vs. stock sn 95. It is a drivers race no doubt. No will kill each other if you have to good drivers. Now if a stock fox body races a new edge both drivers having the same ability you could see up to a .5 sec difference. I mean i honestly don't care it is just a big misconception these days that NPI vs. 5.0's (stock vs. stock) 5.0's will beat them. It is totally a drivers race. (Wouldn't having a cobra though so I wouldn't have to worry about this
