Air-temp, gas quality, passengers, gas tank full/empty, trunk full/empty, oil change, air conditioner on/off...maybe if they all line up you might find your car struggle a little more. Just a thought

ORIGINAL: 99BlackPonyGT

i know if i go from like a 10 roll starting in second, my car will feel slow all the way up through the gears, but that initial launch from a dig and running out first gear makes it seem sooo much quicker, even through 2-5
I can relate to this. I don't know if it's just my perception or if there's any truth behind it mechanically or whatever, but here's two situations and the car runs noticeably stronger in one. situation 1 I'm going 15mph in 2nd gear and decide to jump on it. yeah it's going to lug at 15mph, but of course if you stay on it it will get to that sweet spot, 4-6K rpm. situation 2: ive looped around on an onramp on to the highway basically at about 35mph in 2nd gear so my rpms are closer to the sweet spot to begin with, get the car straight and get on it. in this situation the car seems to pull much stronger from 4-6K than it does in situation 1. why is that? I mean I would think it would pull equally as strong from 4-6K regardless of whether you start at 15mph or 35mph.

yea, I agree. I can't explain it though. It does like the cold weather for sure...can't wait to drive it tonight (it's been a week cause I knocked off my drivers side mirror backing into the garage).
