it should easily run 12s on drag radials, let alone slicks. on slicks, your going to break a axle or carrier if they are stock.
what hp would you be at when you can start breaking the axle?
Its more a matter of tire and suspension setup than power. I can see a completely stock car + slicks + gears breaking an axle. You can make 500+ WHP and probably not break an axle on a street tire or nittos no matter what you do (within reason).

+1 getting rid of those 4 cats will net you in the neighborhood of 20+hp at that power level.
