if your mustang has a 4v, then you can put cobra badges on it. The blue book value might not reflect that its a cobra, but who cares. If you got the goods, you got the goods, everybody else is just a hater. There is no difference beteen the cars so if you want to do a FULL conversion, then go for it and tell everybody its a cobra... becuase it is. But as far as cobra badges on a 2v or v6, yeah its dumb. In fact I know a mustang that was in a mustang mag, that had a full conversion (interior/ body/ engine and all) to an 03 cobra... nobody found out it was a GT. The 4v engine is what makes a cobra a cobra. Now if you did not do a full conversion and just a 4v. Then i think an svt badge is waranted, but the bottom line is that alot of people bitch about posers, when they are riding in v-6's and stock automatic GT's. IF you can back it up, get "my car is better than yours" painted on the hood.
How did you come to that conclusion? If I was to run this guys vin what would it say? GT. Not cobra. It's that simple. You don't have a cobra. Even if you put every single thing that makes a cobra a cobra onto your GT it's still not a cobra. It was born and GT and will always be a GT. Don't try and make people believe it's anything other than a GT, because when its all said and done, it truly is just a GT.

it doesnt matter if a car "merits" the badges. you cant merit cobra badges unless you drive a cobra anyways. just because you have a gt that puts down as much or more power than a cobra doesn't make it a cobra. a cobra is a type of car: a type of car that you do not own.if you want people to back off put a nitrous injected or supercharged badge on there. your car is not a cobra. the cobra symbol advertises a completely different engine, suspension, interior and exterior than the car you drive. it represents a legacy even. plus its a bit immature IMO, why are you trying to advertise your power anyways? let people find out on their own...

all this is IMO just so you know... not trying to offend anyone
wait though, I thought the cobra namesake came from the name of an engine,so what does a badge have to do with heritage. After all, the cobra's from 1993-2004 had nothing to do with shelby, and shared almost nothing other than the name. The whole not advertiseing your power is fine and all, but with the drivers in tucson, I don't feel safe having people try and race me every second of every day, which is practically what I experience.

I have the sticker on my back window that says "bottles are for babies, real men get blown," and Im thinking of switch to GT badges, I just don't know why so many people have such a big deal with it.
If it's not a cobra, don't put the badges on it. It's that simple. You will be laughed at, and never taken seriously. Even the ricers will think it's gay.

That sticker is HILARIOUS! It's of man. If the form of FI I chose was inferior to N20, I'd bitch too. See sig
Im adding N20, and I don't whine. If you win a race against me, your a faster car period, there isn't anything to whine about. Like I said, I have the GT badges sitting on my desk, I just need the time to put them on.

To Oxford, the transmission that is in the car is named the Interceptor, its an aftermarket automatic that is used in law enforcement Vic's, so thats why I liked the badge

in my opinion if its not a cobra dont put cobra badges on it.i dont care even if you have a 4v swap with the t56 its still not a cobra.it still isnt #1025 out of how ever many cobra were built.its doesnt have a cobra chasis cobra brakes cobra irs.i think badging a car something it isnt is stupid now i know i have a 03 cobra bumper and i think its ok for people to use cobra hoods n bumpers because reality is they are alot nicer than aftermarket body kits they have out for these cars.but i would never put cobra emblems anywere on my car.

Oh, and if you really think SCing or Turbo's really are inferior to Nitrous, Ill meet you at any road course in the country. It may be better 1/4mi at a time, but when it comes to going around a road course, it can't keep up. If you are on the west coast you can meet me at willow springs at one of their track days this spring

Awesome. You go ahead and go to a road course. I won't be there. I'm trying to build a drag car. If I were a road racer/auto X'er then of course, boost is the way to go.

I should have clarified. I'm just talking about making power, and running track times. I just don't understand peoples hatred for Nitrous. I'm sorry that it makes my car faster than most cars that dont use it []

Was your car built by a person (edit: or people) who was a part of the SVT team? Probably not, so why do it?
But who am I to talk.
