I did have some numbers in mind I just wanted to get some input from you guys on what you thought about it after I explained the book value, the options on the car, the problems with it, and what I was planning on offering.

Just want to make sure I'm being fair and not ripping myself or him off. Never hurts to get some extra opinions.

I appreciate your help Hank.

lol

Last time someone told me to get a junkyard part it was for a seatbelt motor in a 90 Civic. I could only find two of them and they went for the "bargain" price of $180 each. [:'(]

I live in MT. The odds of finding a cluster for a Cobra in a junkyard are about 1 in a mill. As to finding one out of state I wouldn't even know where to start.

As for the car I made this thread because I wondered if you guys thought it was worth what he's asking for it or not. I made a final offer to him of $9550 sold as-is and if he won't take it then I am definitely walking away. That is already more than the car is probably worth but since I want it I'm willing to pay a little extra to get it. But I do have a limit - and that's it.

Well that's the smart thing to do. Always have a limit in mind, you just have to have the power to walk even though you really want the car. Sometimes, depending on home desperate he is, he made reconsider. If he says no, I would say "ok, well here is my name and number, let me know if you reconsider...(in a sorta nonchalant way)"
