Oh, I've already decided that I'm detuning it to about 400rwhp. There is seriously no point in driving a car like this on street tires, especially when you can chirp your tires at 70mph.

I couldn't DD this car when I have a Nissan sentra next to it that gets 42mpg, versus 12-14 depending on how I drive. I might try daily driving the fox once I get it built, but again, that's just for fun

I just wanted to let people know that once you get past 450rwhp, unless you're running R compound tires, or something similarly sticky, it's stupid to drive on the street.

since you can switch tunes...

cant you get your car retuned for a larger pulley and only have say 400hp, then when you get to the track and your on slicks put the smaller pulley on and load the other tune? is it more complicated to chance a blower pulley than i'm thinking it should be?

but yeah my buddy has a 03 cobra with 500+ to the wheels. he can light the tires at 50mph in 4th gear and turn sideways...that car gives me a chubby

If I could limit the boost somehow in first gear, it would be much more useable, and yeah, Terminator Cobra's are teh sex.

I know with a turbo you can limit how much boost you see in gear, which would be really nice. I'm not sure how hard it is to change a blower pully, but I think at 400 there are probably not many cars that can keep up anyway

How the **** are you driving this thing? 550rwhp isn't too much for the street if you drive it like a normal human being. It takes time to make that power. If you're letting it go to the top of the powerband, that's your fault, not that you have too much power. It's not like you touch the gas pedal and BOOM! 550rwhp!

I have a feeling it's more you than the power of the car.

if traction is your problem in 1 and 2nd gears - go with sticker tires and recommend with all that hp you switch back to stock gearing...

Not bashing, just curious why you don't know half your brands/parts.

Did you send the car somewhere and have it built? or buy it used or what?

Don't get me wrong, if I had cash, I'd send the car out and say, "Don't send it back till it's safely making 500 hp" lol
