Default mechanic

Anyone know of a good mechanic in the dc md va area. excuse my language but Fck the ford dealer I don't like them very much I think because I don't know alot about cars they try to fck me out of my money.

Also what should be my first mod like I said I don't know anything about cars or parts I just like to go fast. I have a 03 blk gt auto wish I would have went manual now. I was going to put a K&N air filter in and the dealer said I shouldnt because it could let extra debris in and mess the motor up What do you all think????

Why would you go to the dealer to put in a K&N filter. It takes like 3 minutes. A 5 year old kid could probably do it.

As for shops in VA. Try excessive motorsports

if a filter is letting/lets debris into the engine, then there must be a big *** hole in it, or somehow it isnt put on all the way.

the filer you have in there now (the stock filter) is made of paper. if anything is going to let debris into the engine is paper as a filter.

go outside...pop your hood. look to the fron left. you will see a big black rounded box thing with a clasp to clasp it on to the big rubber intake tube/maf. undo the clasp with your hands...no tools required. and whaaaa-Laaaa there is your air filter. yank out the p.o.s paper filter, and atleast put a k&n filter in (if not replace the whole damn intake...big black box, rubber tube, and all). you will feel so much hp gain, you will think you just added a 200shot of nitrous.

ok...so the gains will be NOTHING like that.....but it should get you a couple of horses. you can always remove the air silencer as well, to yeild a few more horses.

click the link in the upper left that says "search"....type in air silencer removal, or something of the sort. im sure you will find plenty of info.

I think doing anything with "air mods" like a cold air, throttle body, spacer, plenum, etc are mainly, not to just free up the air flow and such, but it really helps with throttle response the most. While I have done mods like an intake and a spacer, I noticed far greater throttle response more than anything. Felt more peppy.

There is a reason why it is called an air filter. It filters the air, hence the name... You are not going to get anything in a K&N that will mess anything up. You can drop it in and go in 5 minutes like stated before.
