I had just parked my 2004 Mustang GT in my driveway and put the ebrake on and shut the engine off when I heard what sounded like something breaking or giving way. The sound came from the ebrake lever and sounded similar to when the lever is released. However, the lever didn't move when I heard the noise and it was fairly loud. There's an incline on part of my driveway so I turned the car back on and tested the ebrake on the incline. The ebrake alone still held the car in place on theinclineso it seems like they're working but I had to pull the lever up probably about 2/3 the way up for it to hold. The noise didn't sound too good. Has anyone had this happen and if so, what was your resolution? Thanks for your help.

 

every mustang does that, my 94 does it, my 85 did it, and my buddys 99 gt does it to, u pull it up makes loud snapping noise, i thiougth mine brok ebut its fiine...just the way to build em cheaply..
