I wish I would have done a before and after dyno to show the skeptics there is power to be gained by a good intake, but could a woulda shoulda if. I can say that I have always dynoed a little higher than expected for the setup I was running.

Just out of curiousity, when I get cams I've been trying to decide between a comp cams xe270ah or the crower stage 3 na cams. Did anyone mention having to cut the pistons for clearance when you get the cushman stage 3s?

Bigger isn't always better when it comes to heads and cams you know.

u dont need an intake.. just remove it and have it suck air right from the heads

if you do cams you need an intake... stock manifold drops off really bad after peak power... yes stock intake may make similar numbers to some aftermarket intakes, but the power falls off hard after peak. With a good intake it will carry the power a long ways further... people might say that thier stock intake cars pull fine to xxxxxxrpm.. but jump on a dyno and you will see your car not only flatline but completely fall off.. They just were not setup to rev past 6k...

Exactly the type of thing I want to avoid by doing the intake before heads and cams. Maybe I shouldn't be asking for numbers. I know it's highly opinionated, but out of all the intakes for a PI car, which one is the best, especially all around, for the person (myself) who is very lightly modded, but is working on building a potent FI car?

The stock cams and intake go hand in hand with the power dropping off at around 5500 but the bigger influence being the cams. The intake does play a part, but the cams are the biggest factor. With a good set of cams, you should be able to build power well past 6k even with the stock plastic. I wish I still had a stock manifold dyno sheet to compare the trick flow to, but the only thing I can say is that with stock heads/cams, a p-1sc, and the trick flow, my peak power came in at around 5750 and didn't drop off like with the stock intake. It fell a little but mostly just leveled out.

Now in combination with the new blower cams, it continues to build power well past 6 thousand, but I can't safely take it that high yet since my fuel pressure starts to drop right at right about the same time[:'(]. Its boost-a-pump time.
