Here I am. The MD thread talks about a car that is a big bore 2V. So, let's clear this up. THERE IS NO WAY A 4.6 2V WILL ACHIEVE OVER 400RWHP. My car was 334rwhp on a Mustang Dyno and close to 380rwhp on a Dynojet.

Ya gotta be specific when ya make claims on HP and 2V's. Hell, if ya want to make vague claims, I could say this. "My old set up in the Purple Bucket made 679RWHP out of a 2V". Of course it was a 408W, but it is a 2V. Ya see what I mean?

ok ok chill everyone yes its possibleto get over 400hp n/a in your 4.6 just pick up your latest mm&ff mag.,and they built one with 435hp with only bumping comp. to 11:1,and bolting on a set of stage 3 cnc'd heads, and some decent cams with a stock pi intake i just wanted to see what kinda info you guys were offering up.i've got a n/a 500hp '79 cobra.its just forged bottom end,.060 bore, afr 205's,and a really big solid lift cam,and a victor jr./w a 850 hp carb.it pumps out 497hp at the wheels.i can build a 4.6 i just want to know whats the main power making components are.i figured i'd start with a decent 5.1 stroker forged bottom end kit to freshen it up.what heads does everyone propose, and cams.i've already got a pi intake i bummed off a buddy.thanks again for all the answers.

Before you go spouting off. Take a second to read the thread.

There has also been a 430rwhp N/A 2V in Texas. Holds the fastest N/A 2V record.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

First off, the example I showed was a 4.6L based engine (your relevance to a 408W is far from being included). I think common sense should be in order here to realize I was specifically talking about an N/A 2V mod motor car (ie. 4.6L based engine). Why would I talk about a 408W in 4.6L tech?

Secondly, no one specifically stated "stock displacement". I suggest you re-read the arguement again. I'll agree to the fact that 400rwhp with stock displacement has NOT been done, however I do feel that I could get there with a little more R&D.

I assumed that everyone understood that it was a 2V 4.6L based engine making those numbers, not a specific displacement. Since the ambiguity began in post #1, I figured they already knew? Apparently everyone "assumed" something different.

And congrats on making 380rwhp with a 281 CI engine, that is nice work. I too have come close (360rwhp range).

The #'s you see in the magazine are flywheel HP. We are discussing rear wheel HP. Big difference.

BTW, please don't go with a stroker on a mod motor.
