Okay sounds good. Maybe I will just get shorties, which kind of seem like a waste.

Speaking of legal, illinois only plugs into the comp. They don't look under the car. Would I be able to pass that test?

I've got BBK ceramic coated headers, and I like them. There was definitely a noticable difference. I can't gauge how dramatic though because my car hasn't run right since I bought it. Now that I think I worked out all the kinks tonight, I have to say the car is FAST!

honestly he should just get longtubes. Rent the tools, 40 bucks for a day around me, and make the swap if he really wants headers. Even for a computer nerd like me, swapping headers or anything that doesn't involve engine work is really pretty simple

I think I'll do it.

Has anyone from Illinois with LT's and cats pass emissions? Please let me know.

why would you go with bassani mid length's hoss??? i was thinking of going with full bassani or with the bassani mids and x pipe and slps. whats the performance difference between mid length and longtube headers???

Actually long-tubes will pass inspection in most states (California being the notable exception). Going from a stock to long-tubes, mid-pipe and tune will get you maybe 7-10 rwhp. Supposedly more if you are if you a supercharged. I'm running BBK LTs and catted x-pipe and I didn't see any gain (but the dyno runs were months apart which changes things).

I recommend saving your money for the supercharger. It will give you much more noticable gains.

7-10 hp doesn't seems like much. But when I supercharge, I assume the gains will be greater because of the full exhaust. I can get the LTs for 350 or less, thats a decent deal and if install doesn't cost me any, I'm leaning towards getting the LT's.

is this 7-10 hp with a tune (I won't be getting one anytime soon I would think) the correct estimate?

I believe so, but I might be wrong. It's been a long time since I read those posts.

I'm already supercharged....and they are way down toward the bottom of my mods list as far as priority goes. I don't think 2-valves respond to LT's good enough to make it worth the cost of a good set of LT's and the hassel of install (even on FI 2-valves).

Save your money for FI. Just some thoughts.
