if there is no sniffer, then they should pass, but if you really wanna make sure, get two old cats, cut them in half and bolt them on the mid pipe, looks like cats, and the quickly scanning eye it looks normal. i mean they will pass if you use mil eliminators, which im selling right now, homemade ones of course, which should prevent codes from being thrown.

Well I will try the LT's with the BBK cattted h-pipe for emissions. If that does not work, which it seems like it should, then I will use the mils. I believe Illinois gives 90 days before it must be retested.

I believe headers is by far the worse HP per Dollar, When I was ordering my kenne bell I was talking to one of the tech guys and also read on there website that when they installed headers onto a 02 gt with kenne bell they saw 3-5 hp gains over stock.

Also you will pass Ill emissions aslong as you dont have check engine light on. Just went for mine in cook county and guy plugged in scanner and never looked under car.

I would look at other mods tho. Besides my Kenne Bell, I thought out of all the bolt on mods I got, the Xcal2 tuner was the best mod, night and day difference.

I have SLP catted X and Catback and that is perfect for me dont see any reason to get headers.

I've got LT's. They are Mac.

They make the exhaust have a little different nicer sound, but they make it a bitch to do transmission work.

I wouldn't put them on a bolt on car, the gains isn't worth the money/ hassell.

haha i got mac LTs for $125 and they are in like new condition. y buy brnad new when u can find good deals on barely used items

Do not get longtubes! I have them and it will only make it harder for me to kick your *** on the track.

FYI: there is so much BS in this thread I wouldn't know where to begin. Longtubes are a proven mod on our cars that don't respond to mods easily. Like I said , don't get them, I'll enjoy seeing you at the track.

Not sure what others were referring to, but I was strictly speaking bang-for-the buck mods for someone who is trying to save for a supercharger (or even in many cases, people who already have superchargers). From my perspective....LT's delay you $700 - 1500 (depending on who installs them) from saving enough money for a supercharger.

I was contemplating LT's versus an upgraded intercooler before I bought my intercooler. I got the same feedback from Mark LaMaskin (Performance Autosport) and Tim Barth (Modular Powerhouse) when I asked about LT's....don't get them because you'll be disappointed in the gains for the money you put into them since 2-valves don't respond that well to LT's. But, hey maybe you've built more cars than they have....

You're talking economics.....I'm talking real world track results. My car picked up a solid 2 tenths in the 1/4 with the longtubes. Dyno queens and roll racers are looking for something else I suppose.

I prefer low end torque for my daily driver, I don't care much for drag strip results, i care that when I'm driving within the city, I have enough torque to not have to lay into the throttle heavily (relatively) to stay with the flow of traffic.

I've tried running with an Off road pipe for a while, and I tuned for it as well, so it wasn't in the tune, I kept the same AF, but somehow, my gas mileage seemed to suffer with the same or even grannier driving because it was too loud.

lol, I find it hard to see how a car that runs 126mph in the 1/4 could be lacking much of anything. Longtubes add power/torque under the peak. That's where the track gains come from....peak horsepower can be equaled or bettered with shorty's but they lack the torque in the lower rpms.
