I'm telling ya! Do the A/C Delete delete that I did! The car will rev quicker and smoother and spool up just a little bit faster due to less paristic loss from all those pulleys. Plus it unclutters the bay and gives you room for any other gear that you may want to put there like say.....a procharger! LOL!

What does removing the A/C have to do with the heat?

haha I would totally do the A/C delete.. except I live in Southern California. I ride with the windows down as much as I can, but on a hot summer day with 3 other girls in the car that don't want messy hair, the A/C's gotta come on =\ I guess that's what I sacrifice for it being my DD

I will be doing this here soon. I've had my car for 2 years and I rarely used the A/C. Plus I don't want to have to buy a new compressor for my new motor.

Im not a car a/c expert so I have no idea how it does what it does.

I was just assming that the hot air is being pushed through the same tubes as the cold air...so I figured removing a/c and all the components would mess with that.

Just an FYI:

A/C works like this - First you take a gas, like Freon, and place it in a sealed system. This freon is then pressurized using a compressor. As it's pressurized, it gets hot by absorbing the heat around it. This hot gas is then circulated through a series of tubes that dissipate the heat. Scientifically, the gas removes heat rather than adds cold, but that's a lesson in physics that doesn't really matter to us right now. The gas can lose lots of its heat, in other words it gets really cold, when you reduce the pressure. As it cools it becomes a liquid. This is when you get cold air blowing on your sweaty forehead.

Heater works like this - Water flows through your engine and gets heated carrying heat away from the engine. When you turn on your heater soem of that water gets redirected to a heater core similar to a radiator. A fan blows air across the core and the air heats up. Basically a heat exchanger.
