looking for some good input
I have parted with my 88 saleen and now I have narrowed down my new search to a 99 gt with cams and intake and slp full exhaust with full length headers and xpipe and 373 gears. Car is in pristine condition and has won some shows. Or a 96 svt cobra with flowmaster exhaust and other than that all stock. Also mint condition. Both cars have approx. 50k on them. Someone tell me what to buy. I am torn. Need input on peformance between the two and which car responds to mods better for instance a supercharger. Thanx everybody

Well the Cobra is a 4v, as opposed to the 2v GT, which also means the cobras has 4 cams as opposed to 2 DOHC( just incase u didn't know ) and the 4v will respond better to mods. Stock compression on a cobra is 9.85:1 which is decent for stock, to be boosted, im not sure what it is on a 99 GT. The SVT(Cobra will outrun the GT stock and modded) I know this from experience. With just an O/R X pipe and flowmaster mufflers (96) cobra i beat my buddys 99GT with BBK plenum + TB, Xpipe, Pullies, Mufflers and CAI by like 2 cars. That should give you a pretty good comparison between the 2. The GT may feel faster if you go to drive both because of the gears, but a gear swap in the Cobra will not dissapoint and put it right back there if not ahead of the GT, or you may wanna leave stock 3.27s depending on what kind of supercharger you go with if you do indeed supercharge it.
