460 build thread
ide rather only build one rear end....the 8.8 like ide want it set up would be about $1200, i could spend $2k and have a stronger 9"....
ide feel much better with the 9" with my future plans.....not sure what you plan to make, but im aiming pretty damn high ...
this motor going into it now is just a cheap motor i threw together to drive around one.... once the car is running ill build a rear end for it, after that im going to be working on a high compression 600" stroker motor with a 300-400 shot
also, when i build a rear end, it will be shortened and the car will get mini-tubbed

pretty niffty fan controller.
Turns it on at a light % so not to "shock" your charging system, Only turns on the fan as much as you NEED it to cool the car, instead of "ON/OFF" which runs the fan full blast and shocks your charging system. Can also keep the fan on at 10% power incase you have underdrive pulleys (or just cooling issues) ETC
I have one on my fox with the Mark VIII fan, my car use to overheat like crazy in traffic, ive now never seen it go over operating temp's, even when trying to stress it out.
(also have mine rigged to run with the car off while at the track to cool the car.)

hmm ill have to look into that... is the markviii fan the 2speed or the dual fans like the contour?
as for the trans, i basically got it free...got a cooler, converter, valve body, and working trans for $400...it would cost me that much for just the valve body, cooler, and converter...its a stock trans, so im not expecting it to last forever...but it will be enough to drive around on...after it dies, i will build another c6 for it....c6 is a beefy trans, its nothing like the t45 i had in the car before
I got mine for $75 on eBay, the DCC is like $130?
was real easy to wire up, should take care of that 460 pretty easy as long as your radiator is good.
