Default NOOB in need of help (I searched) 96 4.6L GT

Hey guys, I just got my first mustang, its a black 1996 4.6L 77k Miles its got a CAI body kit killer 17" rims new rubber its got the 2 tone black and tan leather interior. I have 2 major issues I need to fix, first is I have no cat back exhaust. No muffler no pipes, I'm looking to pick some up used in the New England area so my question is what will fit? I have 3 different sets I can buy for 150 bucks each but they are from 99-04 will they fit? Are they an interchange or will only 94-98's fit my cat back?

Second major issue is it seems I have a blend door problem. I tried to re direct the air from the defrost to the vents to the floor and it stays on defrost, oh the best part it only blows cold air. Sweet! especially for february. I'm no stranger to working on cars. If the 99-04 exhaust will fit, I'll go buy a set right now and put them on. The heat thing would be great to fix too now. The guy told me it was a modulue that goes under the dash, like a 10 dollar part, but I'm not sure he know's his elbow from his a** when it comes to cars, so I can't be sure. Any help is appricated. Thanks

I am pretty sure it needs to be 96-98 catback for it to match up as it should.

look on ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97...#ht_3591wt_953

did you say Body Kit? I hope it's a Saleen or something similar, not an ebay ricer looking kit. I get disgusted everytime I see a GT with some bodykit with 8" foglight holes in it.

As far as exhaust, search ebay for the Pypes catback, a guy here locally has one and it sounds pretty good, and it's cheap.

I've only done a blend door on a Mark VIII, and I'll tell you, for a $15 part, it's an 8 hour job to replace, we had to pull the dash to get to it.

I can put my hand on the blend door. Doesn't seem that hard to get at, I just am wondering which lever controls the heat. I pulled on the lever that is attached to the back of the silver thing with the tube and it was the door that switched defrost to floor, On the jeep I had you could just cut thru the plastic part and jam the heat door open, this seems a bit different. I need to deal with the heat issue now, in the summer I'll just put the windows down.

Hey, I see you're from CT. Where in CT? Wanna buy my PI swap parts? You'll get quite a nice gain out of it for your NPI.

OK, done with the shameless plug.

For the blend door it'll most likely be a huge pain in the ***. I haven't done one on a Mustang, but I've done plenty on other cars. You have to pull the whole dash to get at the duct work for the heat/AC. It's a bitch.

Im in Danielson CT, I'd love to dig into my engine, unfortunately I'm going to be spending the extra cash I've saved to put a cat back, fix the heat, and get a new track for the passenger window before I look into engine mods. The engine and trans are running good right now. Oh and a good steam clean of the interior is in order as well. Owned by a smoker, who knew you could do so much damage to an interior with only 76k I gues its more of the 13 years.
