Default 12.99

anyone heard of a 99-04 2v mustang going 12.99 with factory suspension, full interior(basically street set up) with only CAI, TB, upper intake, under drive, sct tune(not a dyno tune) factory headers, bassani x pipe bullet mufflers, and a set of gears with DRs and aluminum DS? Im only asking because i just ran a great time, and was thinking the only stuff im missing out of that list is DRs and a set of gears and the drive shaft....and all i got to shave off my time to get that time is .398 of a second. possible?

nope very believeable! id say if youd get some slicks/DRs and skinnes on some 15s youd get pretty close if not hit a 12.99.

It is very doable. Most ppl think you need every bolt on mod in the book plus gears and tires just to go low 13.

actually "most" mustang drivers do b/c they suck at driving! most have trouble even breaking the 13.99 mark even with full bolt ons, simply b/c they lack the driver mod. but their are few that break the trend

dont wanna do suspension...infact when i do its gonna be MM track pack, cuz i like the idea of being able to control my car at 100plus miles an hour lol...so no drag suspension for me, I guess i follow you guys there tho, it has alot to do with driver. I just hope i can hold up on my end and maybe be one of the few to pilot a simple bolt on stang into the 12s in street trim

Lose the heavy wheels.

Are you doing open track? If not then why would you need to control your car in corners that fast?

You're going to need ~ a 1.80 60' at your present power level to hit 12.99. However you get it doesn't matter. Either super sticky tires (slicks) or DR's with some suspension work are my suggestions. Keep in mind ,it's a lot easier to go from 14.0 to 13.5 than it is to go from 13.5 to 12.99. The faster you get the harder it is to improve.

yea ive already gathered that lol going faster is a challenge...as far as heavy rims, i ran that time on the factory bullits, with the falken tires, they weight a lot less than these rims. And even though i have no intention of driving the car around a corner at 100 plus, i get the concept of drag suspension, and it doesnt make a great street car, this is going to be my DD for a while, i would much rather it handle and corner at the sacrafice of a 1.6 60 foot time...if and or when i get enough money to make a dedicated track car then maybe, other wise i consider it a safty thing.
