U got a damn nice GT man.

Used cars at dealerships here are ridiculous, but I probably will look down into the bigger areas of the state like Charlotte, Raleigh, etc but here in the mountains its BS. Good thing is the guy isnt really actively selling it so its not like I have to decide anything in the next day or two but definitely needed some input.

Yes, you may find a better deal later on, but if you really like this car and everything checks out, why not? There will always be something better around the corner, but sometimes if you keep looking for that better deal, you miss out on the enjoyment of having something now. Not that waiting is necessarily a bad thing.

I paid a bit more than some would have paid for my 03 Mach 1 recently and I have no regrets, because I really like the car and it is in mint condition. I traded in my 03 V6 Mustang (pony package) and the difference is (no surprise) night and day as far as performance. I am even getting better gas mileage than with the V6 (a pleasant surprise).

If this Mustang truly was babied by the previous owner, that should be a big plus. The Mach 1 I just got was totally babied by the previous owner and I sure benefitted.

I would be curious about why the current owner is selling it. Did he find a new toy or what?

Just remember, if everything seems to be on the level with this car and you think it is a great deal, then that is what counts the most. The average person will always tell you that you should pay less for a car, but not every 5-7 year old Mustang is going to be in good, babied shape. Good luck.

Yeah he said he was wanting to get something new, but if it didnt sell he had no problems keeping it. In all honesty I would rather find a real nice Termi with low miles, but most of them have had the dog crap ran out of them because they're so powerful and fun to drive. But thanks for wishin me luck, hopefully if I dont end up with this one another one is waiting around the corner somewhere.

I honestly don't see the problem with cars that are ran hard... im gonna do it myself, might as well break in the cylinder walls lol. Its been brought up that if a car never sees above say 4500 rpms and then you start taking it to 5800 as the new owner, you can break piston rings. Granted thats very unlikley to happen, esp on such a low milage car but its possible, Termis are ment to be driven hard, have u ever seen the torture tests? they are insane, just buy what you want, as long as its clean and maintained and doesn't have 1000000000000000000 miles, i dont see the harm.

Yeah I'll probably keep looking for a little while anyways, but it will be tough to beat the 04. I hate 5 and 6 speeds to be honest, but I have found a few of the termis with the 4r70w tranny and over 700 horses but theyre nearly 30 grand.

It really depends on your overall goals. That is a decent price for one with that many miles. I bought my '03 for $7400. It has 139000 miles on it though, but has been maintained well and the body/interior is in excellent shape. I have future plans to get a built motor put in, so the miles doesn't bother me.
