A built LSX (if you went n/a lets say) would run approx 8k if you built it yourself, but you would at 600-800rwhp (depending on compression). If you spend 10-15k you could hit 1000 rwhp on race gas (n/a). Im spending about 15k, and it should it over 1000 14lbs or less of boost.

Would n/a be the safest route? I saw a little artice on MM&FF where they got 366.8 rwhp and 505.8 ft lbs of tq out of a little 150 shot. For some reason the inital introduction of Nitrous amplifies the torque exponentially but for each jet above the gains of tq and hp are consistent. Also what's the most desirable 5.0? It seems like people around here always like the notches, is that just a style thing or are the coupes and notches set up differently?

well an LSX can be built out to a 511 cubic inch and you can run ls7 heads (375cfm), so its another deal. N/A generally is way more desirable from a reliability standpoint, but not a streetability standpoint. If you went with a lightweight fox body, you run a stroked 351 or even a stroked 302 (using a sportsman block) w/ nitrous get well into the 9's pretty cheaply, but keep in mind for those time your going want a transbrake.

If you want to be bad, a good route is a fox, as light as you can make it, a stroked 302 and 300shot of happy gas.

But a 460 can hold a nasty stroke, the only thing is that it is expensive, but if you go n/a nitrous its not more expensive than anything else
