If you're confident enough to track down wiring problems and individual coil issues and troubleshooting for other components, then be my guest but I wont give advice that's gonna make someone step on their dick. (Unless I don't like them.)

Aftermarket ignition parts, Coil packs & control boxes do very little on our cars anyway. Some control boxes have specific features that make them a good buy but for the most part they're useless.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I had read somewhere that the output on the triggers (or maybe it was the power) makes the COP's run at a lower current which makes the spark less powerful/reliable as they would have been on the newer wiring harness motors that they come stock on.

I'm not sure yet, I am still in the research phase of my next project which will be replacing a few things up top like my intake manifold, MAS, fuel rails, FPR, injectors, and maybe doing the COP's and MSD ignition well I'm at it.

anyone know why the COP's are in series instead of just running them parallel with the corresponding triggers?

The non COP pre 99 ECU doesn't send the pulse signal to the individual coils like the 99+. I proved this by first trying to pin out a 99 engine harness for my 96. *what a pain in the *** that was*
