I didn't retard strength anything. I broke it with hand tools one handed trying to loosen it like I did all the rest of the bolts, this one just ended up breaking instead of coming loose. what do you guys not understand about the fact that old bolts will sometimes break from age and not brute force? do you not realize the heat and stress they go through after being on there for 13 years? sorry I can't afford a car from the new millennium like you can and that I just have to work with what I own!

The easy out will work better if you use a drill bit and drill into the broken bolt a little first. I wouldn't just dig right in with the easy out only.

Just for future reference
besides blasting the screw/bolt, I have had some success when I tighten a little to break it loose. Then I take it out.

next time a bolt wont cooperate spray some PB blaster on it before you try to retard strength it.
PB blaster is some good stuff. Works great if you let it soak in for awhile.

I drilled into the bolt and tried to use the easy out. it wouldn't budge so I just drilled all the way through the bolt and went to a larger drill to drill out the rest of the bolt. I got it out now and want to know what I should do about that bolt. do I just try a new bolt and see how messed up the threads are or spend the $ on a tap set I'll only use the one time? anyone able to tell me what size tap I need for this?

Well if you drilled out the entire bolt, then the hole is now larger than what it was before. Using the same size bolt wont do any good. You will have to get a tap, tap the hole and use a new bolt that is the same size as the tap. They arent expesive or anything. And there is no such thing as buying a tool and only using it once. I'm pretty sure somewhere down your life you will need a tap set....
