He lives in Cali and I'm not sure but I doubt they change the gas mixture like they do in the Midwest during the winter. But than again it is Cali and they probably have a different gas mixture for every day of the week.

It all makes sense. Here in Cali we do use winter gas and I have noticed on cold days my car does not run as hot. Thanks guys.

lol My Hybrid Fusion in Alaska goes from 700 miles to a tank or more in the summer to less than 400 a tank in the winter. And my Explorer (4.6) I had before it up here went from a summer average of about 23mpg down to around 15mpg.

I can pretty much get the same mileage in the winter as the summer if I limit the use of my defroster. I normally get around 20 mpg. The last tank (I filled up this morning.) was 21 mpg but I had a little more interstate driving than normal.

i wish i got 20 mpg. my gas needle is below the red line right now, and it's showing 163 miles to this tank. but i think i have a few contributors as to why i'm getting so low, like my tire pressure, my 2 minute commute, and i think i'm low on diff fluid cause of an axle seal leak. i def need to get that one taken care of.
