Just ordered: PA Racing K-Member
I originally hadn't planned on installing an aftermarket k-member on this car, or at least not anytime soon. That all changed when I got the car up on ramps/jacks and started working on removing the 11 year-old stock exhaust, lol. The exhaust came off without too much trouble, but the stock h-pipe has been a bitch (and isn't off yet).
Drivers side bolts weren't too much trouble, but the stock k-member is showing it's bulkiness when it comes to trying to remove the passenger side bolts off the exhaust manifold. The upper bolt is off, but the lower bolt is stripped to hell and will need some coaxing off, either via twist socket or with my trusty dremel.
So, I figure in the 7-10 days or so it will take for the PA Racing k-member to arrive, I should be able to get the stock K dropped and the h-pipe removed, then get the new exhaust (SLP catted-x and Magnaflow exhaust) bolted back up, and finally install the tubular k-member. I'm anxious to see just how much more room there is under there.
I went with powdercoated black, mild steel, the 4.6L mounts, spring perches, and will be using the stock A-arms for now. Since this was purchased basically out of necessity, I'm looking to count pennies then spend the extra later. Read some good things about this piece, am anxious to see it!
