Next project??

Haha, I wish. That's the muse for my build. (With my own tweeks of course.) I needed to make a decision now for next year so I can plan out the build. I've already (notionally) spent 10k and I haven't even got the car yet. My timeline should have it 75% complete minus paint by mid 2012. It's going to be driveable at least 80% of the build. I don't even care if it's a Inline 6 while I'm building the drive-line, so long as I can still drive it. I've hated all the down time with my 96.

Ok, well I've finally found something in a 70 mustang that may work for a design to go for. What do you guys think?
(This is not a car I've found to buy, just something that I decided it's a design I can work with. I'm not buying another car till next year sometime to make sure the purchase is sound.)

Something like this is what I will be going after

No no, that's not a car I "Found to Buy" just something to PS that I like and could see building. I hadn't ever really been a fan of the 70 mustang but after a few tweaks in PS it's definitely a car to consider buying.
I'm not huge fan of red or orange car but it was something to work with. Most likely the car will sit in primer for a few years unless I get the gumption to paint it myself. I learned my lesson with my 96, no fancy paint jobs. The next paint job will be a really nice single stage two tone that contrasts well, Like Black w/ silver boss "nerd" stripes. The only colors I really like are any form of Dark green, Blues or Raven Black.

I never liked the 70 mustangs just because of those little fake vent things beside the headlights. Just thought that they looked retarded. Go for a 69 with the same styling cues and i think you'll be happier. I wish i had pictures of my friend colby's 65 fastback him and his dad built...i think you would cream. Its dark blue with some grey GT350 style racing stripes with a 347 stroker making 420hp with side exhaust. Its pretty awesome. I might have some pics of it after tonight and the cruise we are both participating in. I'll make sure to post some pics of it for you if i can get some. Here's a teaser next to a real GT350...

I wont/can't build a 65-69 fastback because people think they are worth a gold mine. (Thanks a lot Barrett Jackson.) Heck even the 70 fastback is already going to push me over the 6-8k budget I wanted to spend on initial purchase on a driveable car that's very low on rust. If it's not a 70 fastback it's going to be a 65/66 coupe. (maybe a 67/68 depending on the deal.)
