Default Next project??

First off, Vettes can suck my D***.

Most of you know I'm done with my car and it's now on it's down cycle and most of the parts have been shipped out. (No turning back now, lol.)

I'm starting to think about my next project and the 4.6 GD has been my home since 2006 so I wanted your input. The list is pretty short.

65/66 Mustang Coupe or fastback (Leaning to a coupe for initial cost and availability)
70 mach1
Datsun 240z with a SBF

Then there are the other possibilities but would take me longer to get but are a 2011GT or an older GT500.

The 65/66 is my first choice at the top of my list. It would have a SBF 302 with a F/I and a single turbo for 400rwhp. (no more than that ever.) If I don't do the 302 it would be a stroked 351 with 400rw.

Here is my muse: (btw Elanor/Nick Cage body kits are for kids.)

The 240z is now out of the running

Finally it would be a 70 Fastback or Mach. The reason it's my 3rd choice is it's size and weight, it's a beast and it would take a lot of work and extra effort on my part to get it to do what I want it to do and be competitive. (Making turns that make my bladder cry.)

Here's my PS rendering of what I'd want in a 70 Fastback.

I say either 65/66 or an older GT500, maybe a brand new 2011. Damn man you got such a good list it is hard to pic one lol

holy hell, too many choices, my father had an old datsun 240z like 10 years ago that he was going to restore, he never got around to it , but those things like create rust sooo if you can find one with floor boards I'd do that, they're different and look like sex, I have always loved 65/66 coupes, I also love the 302 turbo idea (what I want to do to my car once my AWESOME 4.6L 2v dies... and I acquire the know how to do it) but I LOVE the look of the 70 fastback/mach 1, they're just heavy and hard to find in decent shape...

I'd say find one of the makes that is in the best shape for the money and do that, I think any of those cars are very, very respectable cars, good luck, I look forward to a thread about your next project ...I think everyone on this thread tends to bite off more than they can chew

I'm thinking about spending 6-8k on the initial purchase so I can ensure the car is at least driveable. For 6-8k I can find a Zcar that's already been started and in very good shape. I've already found two RB26DETT like moonshine suggested for under $6800 so it would be a much shorter & easier build. I've wanted to build a Z since I was a little cause it looked like the old Cobra and Ferrari's I loved as a kid. It might not be American but it's still one of the cars that changed the world. I'd prefer a SBF for easy maintenance and aggressive sound so long as I built it to be a high rev engine.

As for the 65/66, you can't argue with the beauty those cars have even in stock form.
