Default Driver Side Breather Hose

I want to remove that hose that runs from the driver side to the CAI. I have seen people plug the CAI and just put a tiny air filter there. Which is what I want to do, after much reading though I found a post with someone stating if you do this then you are letting unmetered air in the system? That seems logical, so how or why do people do it. You could never get the air fuel correct I would assume.

My only comment is that is you were to do that you would be drawing unmetered air into the driver's side cam cover/crankcase, and out of the passenger side cam cover via the PCV valve--which would screw up the PCM's injector pulse width calculations (the mix will be lean) whenever the quantity of unmetered air became significant relative to the overall air flow.

But I didn't say that because you already knew that...

The only workaround that comes to me immediately would be to not worry about the lean mix at idle and low rpm loads where the PCV valve is drawing air...
