Jegs O/R H-pipe Installed
Just got done installing the aforementioned H-pipe! Took about 4 hours for my first time. It wasn't that bad of a job, and i'm sure will be much quicker now that I know what I am doing.
I PB blaster'd the bolts the night before, and then again before I started. Once I figured out the right socket/extension/angle to approach each nut with, it was a piece of cake; no air tools needed.
Jegs provides a GREAT pipe for the price, man. I heard that some other brand name pipes had trouble dealing with the "spacers" on the stock drivers side manifold studs. I drilled out the flange on the pipe to 3/4", BUT DIDN'T HAVE TO! The Jegs pipe is flared enough at the end to keep the flange away from the manifold and leave you just the right amount of threads to work with! Awesome.
As an added bonus, the rear o2's are welded closer to the manifolds than most others, so if you have an '04 like me, get this pipe... no O2 extensions needed either. I haven't yet, but plan to make "spacers" for the rear O2's with that HELP spark plug kit, and see if it keeps the CEL off.
On to the sound.... I have the stock headers, and cat-back still in place. It just sounds louder at slow speeds/low rpm's, which I think sounds great! Highway speeds, it actually seems quieter?! +++
Thanks MF'ers!

I just put my BBK H back on two days ago... miss that sound. Do you have any recording of like before and after or anything? Is it a shorty H or the full length one?

I remember you running the h pipe before. What made you go back? I think that's a good choice BTW. The h is just louder and meaner in general.
Yea it's the "full length" H. I wish I could capture a decent recording of it, but my cell phone wouldn't do it any justice.
+1 on heat... it was up to operating temp, and cooled off for about 5 minutes so things were still pretty hot under there... i'm sure that helped.
