His point is that they are in fact good transmissions. They might not stand the abuse that a lot of guys put them through, that doesn't mean they are crappy transmissions though.
A stalled converter doesnt effect the reliability or durability of the transmission. A shift kit is an awful idea for your 4R70W and will affect the life of the transmission. You need to get a J-MOD instead which accomplishes the same thing while increasing the life of the tranny.

A stock 4R70W is good for 500-600RWHP/TQ easy from my copious amounts of research. But I cant tell you 100% because my car isnt at 500RWHP/TQ.

A higher than stock stall converter should absolutely put more stress on the trans. How does coming to a full lock closer to peak torque not put more stress on the trans. It's comparable to dumping the clutch in a manual when used at the track.

You have me scratching my head with the J-Mod though, I'm not big into autos. I just remember what I was running when I beefing up my 727 in my BB Chrysler.

The one thing I know is I have seen/heard of many guys blowing their stock mustang autos, and not running any crazy amount of power through them either.

Im gonna hopefully go with a Magnum T56 transmission swap over the summer and you can get the entire swap kit from D&D for $3500 i think, but you need to buy a new clutch for a 26spl input shaft as well, in which case i'll be contacting lethal and getting a McLeod twin disc, in preparation for the future

I thought the 4R70W were rated at 700 ft.lbs., at least that's what I read in 5.0 or MM&FF a while back. The designations..... 4= four forward gears; R= reverse gear; 70= torque rating (700 ft.lbs.); W= I forget, sorry. And going by that same logic, a T-45 would be capable of 450 ft.lbs., but I'm not at all sure about that. Probably a job for Google or Wiki.

Something that involves the numbers 2.3, 3, 4, 23, 100/150, 281. If you can figure it out from that you are a very smart person. If not, i guess i'll have to delineate later.

i just had my tranny repaired...it was a lot cheaper than getting new...paid 1800 for parts and labor which included the rebuild, new clutch, resurfaced flywheel, adjustable clutch cable, firewall adjuster, billet quadrant...wasnt too bad...i didnt have like 3000 to throw around for a tranny, lol, the 1800 was rough enough

I've been awake since 4:00 this morning (on 4 hrs. sleep), so I'll describe myself as only "moderately smart" at best. In order, I'll take a whack at these.... 2.3= blower displacement; 3,4= no idea; 23= lbs. of boost; 100/150= n2o shot; 281= I know you don't believe in stroker kits.

Am I getting warm?? Delineate accordingly.

2.3L whipple, stage 3 blower cams, 4v cobra heads(ported possibly), 23lb boost, 100-150 shot of nitrous(for when im feeling frisky), and 281 cubes...might bore it out a bit as well. But thats the plan I have in my head. I've thought about E85 as well, but i think im gonna custom fab up a methanol plate system to go between the blower and the lower intake and run it that way so i dont have to run E85 or race gas all the time. This all somehow works out in my head to around 630-650rwhp all boost and then around 700-750rwhp and gobs of torque with the spray. This is me dreaming, but the built 4v motor with a whipple is definitely a plan that is feasible and realistic. Going up from there is the fun part. lol did pretty good for 4 hours of sleep.
