Ok so i was on modular head shop's website the other day and was lookin at their stage two port they can do to stock heads. It seemed relativley cheap compared to buying a whole new set of heads and looked to give some great gains.

Would that be a good decision or would it be better to just buy a new set? I just can't afford some TFS btw lol.

 

I just bought a set from Nick at MHS already ported then sold my stock PI heads for like 400.00

 

yea dude just buy a set off CL. They go for around 100 in san antonio.

 

^What are you advising him to do? Buy a set to have ported and then sell his set??? He has 01 GT, so he has PI heads already. I could see the benefits of buying the extra heads to have sent out so you dont have the down time though.

 

Yea man...i want to not have the down time...but i mean i bought new valve springs and such so do you think i could sell my PI head w/ the spings for what? Idk i just don't wanna spend 300 on heads then 1100 for the port...but i mean if thats what it takes. How much you think the gain will be? 20-25hp?

 

^^^ if it is that much dough then just save up for something else like TF patriot heads with cam combo.

 

well on a typical car on a typical dyno you would see about 310-320rwhp with ported heads and stage 2 cams and supporting mods. BTW, did you ever work anything out with that other member about swapping midpipes??? My buddy said he would be interested in swapping if you still need/want a swap. And what you would do is send the extra heads out to be ported, wait and take your car apart and swap everything over from these heads to the new heads and then go for it...and DEGREE YOUR CAMS!!! lol

 

Yea get a set of cheap pi heads, have em ported n sell his on the car right now. quick and painless.

 

Yea i got ya...ill look for a set of cheap PI heads. Hopin this works out this summer cuz i REALLY want heads by the time i head off to school.

I wish i could just do the labor myself...but i don't have the tools to do so. I really don't wanna pay the labor again. The guy at my shop said the springs were a BITCH lol.

And Teej: No the deal didn't work out so tell you're buddy im down to do the trade. You know whay condition the pipe is in btw?

 

Its only been on the car like 2 times for emissions only. lol but i will talk to him hopefully this weekend and we'll go from there. PM me your cell number if you could so it will be easier getting ahold of eachother.
