The sound will be so terribly puny with cats, don't really sound badazz until the cats go bye-bye.

I agree, if sound is of more importance than performance then definitely go with the H-pipe...

Personally I think an X sounds like a spring or something is going to come out the *** when you rev it. It just hurts my ears!

The best description I've ever seen is:

H-pipe = Musclecar
X-pipe = NASCAR

As I said, it all depends on whether sound or performance is you primary goal. X-pipes outperform H-pipes at the higher revs the OHC engines can reach.

Up to 5200 rpm or so they run neck-and-neck, after that the X-pipe will provide significantly more torque right up to the rev-limiter--it may not sound as good, but it does provide another 700+ RPM of usable powerband.

Its a DD so sound is def more important than performance

I don't know what being a DD has to do with maximizing performance--however I remember being young!
