This makes me think we should have "member of the month" or thread of the month or something like that lol. Cliff and a few others are always poppin out with some crazy answer that really comes down to "common" sense for THEM, but for the rest of us mortals...lol well you get the idea.

well update....have the tranny out the clutch off, thinking maybe i broke a spring of somthing. I have this all out now, and i cant for the life of me see anything visibly wrong. The only odd thing was i took the clutch arm from the t-45 and put it on and it seemed to fit a bit tighter for some reason, even though they are the same part, and the one that i had on the t-56 is newer, both are ford parts. Other than that though im stumped. I dont get how its not working, or how it could have worked for almost 600 miles......any ideas?

Can you post some photos of the components, bell-housing innards, etc.? Maybe one of us will spot something that might help...

i can try and get some tomorrow. whatever it is im sure is very simple, but also likly very small. Like that little bit of loosness from the clutch arm, or if the TB wasnt sitting right. Im also bringing it all to a tranny guy tomorrow just to see if they can find anything. Just irritating to get it all out and still see nothing.

Found the problem.....and im not very happy. Bent input shaft. Took 5 people looking at it for a pretty long time to figure it out. Almost missed it. But it would explain the massive amount of heat that was coming from the transmission tunnel as well. I figure it happened when it was shipped to me, guy didnt protect the input shaft, i was so pissed. But when i looked at it it seems fine, i turned it and everything. But whatever small amount it was out gradually got worse over 600 miles until it seems it kept the clutch from sitting stright and kept it in constant contact with the pressur plate and flywheel. no idea how much this is gonna cost yet. Thank you all for your help.
