Default misfire cylinder 2 &4

ok i have a 96 gt been sitting since last october. got it out this spring to change the oil and stuff seemed to run fine. so when i finaly drive it its missing like hell and the check engine light came on. i pulled the code and got a misfire on cylinder 2 and 4. so i blamed it on the coil pack and replaced it with no luck. any ideas? could 2 of my plug wires go to hell at the same time? its the only other simple thing i can think of. thanks for any help

change plugs and wires. 90% of the time either of those fix a misfire problem.

And advice on removing plugs....unscrew them?? I don't see what your issue is. IF a spark plug blew out I think you would know it. If not, no need to worry about it.

Any number of things. A lean mixture from a vacuum leak, bad coils, bad wires, bad plugs themselves. I agree, check the wires first as if its been sitting, maybe the wires have begun to corrode or have residue of somesort, not unheard for a car that old.

well i'm gonna mess with it this weekend. the wires could be bad but i'm gonna check them with an ohms meter first just to make sure. i hate wasting money on stuff that dont work already spent $50 on a coil pack that did nothing. i have 8 cars and 4 ar dd and i just got done fixing two of them so money is a little tight right now.

any recondamtions on wires and plugs? summit has tons to choose from i just need something decent but for performance as well for less then $100. on my ford probes i run ngk v-powers for spark plugs. should i use them or just use autolites? and no i'm not spending $6 a plug of e3 lol. thanks

good idea with the ohms meter. I know what ya mean with everything, its rough. For the most part, wires and plugs are no different from brand to brand. The only thing is you can get platinum or iridium spark plugs that offer hotter spark, better burn, longer life, etc. Really, a plug is a plug for now

well i checked the wires with a ohms meter the seem alright but i'm gonna replace them anyway since there the original ones. but what scraded me is when i pulled the plugs on cylinder 1,3,4 there was anitfreeze around the outside of the plug. cylinder 4 being the worst. so i cleaned them up the best i could stuck back in there and started the engine and let it idle for 5-10 mins looking for a coolent leak but did not find one. and it seemed to run alright but did not test drive it yet. could this be something serious like a craked intake i know there plastic and i think i read some where that they were **** to craking or could it be a head gasket or head? god i hope not. i have had the car 2 years and never overheated it but it does run on the warm side.

for spark plugs use oem no need for aftermarket.... wires as well... and for the coolant in the plugs.. like you said it could be that the intake is cracked. I remember when my 97GT intake craked... a lot of coolant whent to plugs.
