Mustang Exhaust Help
#11
From personal experience, I would not reccommend matching an O/R X-pipe with chambered (Flowmaster) mufflers. I did it for two days on my car before I had high flow cats welded in to get rid of the terrible resonance at my cruising rpms of 2000rpms. An O/R H-pipe sounds good with chambered mufflers and as mentioned above, the RWHP difference is 1 or 2 at the most. I would not chose the mid pipe based on any perceived difference in power. If you decide to run an O/R X-pipe, go with a straight thru type muffler.
Youtube can be helpful, but be aware of what other mods (exhaust or otherwise) have also been done to the car in the clip.

So I recently bought a cat back flowmaster american thunder exhaust kit. I want to get rid of my cats as well. I know i need the o2 sims but i am wondering what i should put in place of the cats. off road h pipe? x pipe? suggestions please. A friend of mine said h pipes would give more of a boost in hp than x pipe but when i read from other peoples posts they say the opposite
