Because they are junk I have put 4500 into my truck in the last 6 months. My dad had one and in the first 40k miles it needed 9 turbos

my buddy has a 2010 with 50k miles and no issues other than a blown radiator hose (which was really weird) and a Civic trying to drive under it. and blowing turbos every 4500 miles sounds like a maintenance issue to me.

I love the brand new 6.7 power strokes and if you can get away with pulling off all the emissions crap those trucks run so much better. I think it's all about opinion. Every type of truck has its issues. Some have great luck some don't.

fixed it for you. the thing about an issue with a Ford vs a GM is GM will not fix it even if it is their fault for the issue.

Your kidding me right? Maintenance issues what kind of maintenance issue could you have that makes 9 turbos lock up in under 40k miles. They took the truck to international to do testing and tried different types of turbos on it and they all froze up. There were so many issues with the powerstroke they had a national back order on them.

never changing the oil, spooling them up before turning it off to name 2 things that will destroy turbos.

BOYS! I really don't get on the forums much anymore.

I've got myself a new plan for the wrangler I was putting together!!!

Pulling a 5.0 and the rear end out of a 98 exploder and swapping them into the jeep

Got myself a z303 cam too! Gonna pull the heads off and have em ported a bit and have the intake port matched. Hoping to have a bad *** weekend warrior making 280-300 ponies to play with. Starting this summer. Gonna be fun.

Haven't done anything to the cobra though. Still daily driving the beast. Got 93k miles now. boo

How is everyone?

if you are in an emissions state make sure the Jeep is 98 or older to meet the laws.

What year was your dads? My dad has a 09 with the 6.4 in it and I love driving that truck, when the turbo spools up its got tons of power. We tow a 13k lb trailer with it and it handles it very very well never struggles up hills or anything.

And im guessing your dad just got a lemon then? Cuz something was obviously very wrong for 9 turbos
