I have no weight reduction. I wanna say there is like a 100 lb difference between the stick and auto, but i'm not sure.

Dwtjr3, how do you like thos CMS stage 1's? My MHS stage 2's are almost identical to yours, and i love them.

Depends on what the LS1 has done and if the guy can drive or not. There are plenty of LS1 F bodies running mid to high 13s....not hard at all to beat in a new edge even on stock-ish power. If you are just doing highway pulls, then you will need a bit more power.

X pipe, catback, sticky tires, 4.10's and a 150 shot would do the trick

Well, I have experience with both, and let me say, as far as making power dollar for dollar, the LS1 is just better. All the Ford fanboys can whine and cry all they want, but it is.

Now if you're talking hanging with a stock LS1, bolt ons and cams should do it. But once the LS1 starts with bolt ons, you're gonna need more. And if they have a cam, then forget it. You're gonna need FI or nitrous.

But don't buy a Mustang based on what cars it can or can't beat. If you like the Mustangs better, get one. I'm not particularly brand loyal or anything, as long as it's American (and not Chrysler, lol). I got the Mustang because I like it. If I just wanted to go fast, I would have gotten a Camaro/TA. But I think they're kinda ugly, and the Mustang is just much better looking/comfortable/nicer. Although, I do like the GM drivetrain a lot better.

minus the rear end. lol

i would have to agree with you here. GM makes some solid motors. i can't say the same about what they put them in though. LOL!

When I said drivetrain I meant engine/trans. Yeah, the gen 3 and 4 small blocks are ****ing amazing for what they are. I love how everything is interchangeable, too. You can take a truck motor and make a Vette motor out of it.

When they introduced the gen 3 engines in 97 (I think), they actually designed them to meet emission standards until 2020. So they're really powerful and eco friendly, lol.

And they're a lot tougher then the 4.6. I think the record for a stock bottom end F body is high 9's or something. That's nuts.
